HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
1967
The Department of Manufacturing Technology and Bearing Production Technology was established at the University of Transport in Žilina.
1980
The Department of Manufacturing Technology and Bearing Production Technology has evolved into the Department of Machining Technology and Bearing Production.
1992
The Department of Manufacturing Technology and Bearing Production Technology was established at the University of Transport in Žilina.

The Department of Manufacturing Technology and Bearing Production Technology has evolved into the Department of Machining Technology and Bearing Production.
1992
In response to the increased focus on automation, the department has rebranded itself as the Department of Machining and Automation (KOA).
1994
As part of the restructuring process within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the department underwent division and integration with chipless technologies, resulting in the establishment of the Department of Technological Engineering.
1998
In a renewed consolidation, machining and automation seamlessly merged, resulting in the establishment of the integrated Department of Machining and Automation.
2009
After further restructuring within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Machining and Production Technologies (DMPT) was established.
